I have a KM D-SLR with 2 lenses (but will probably only use one) and a couple of filters and would like a shoulder bag to carry it around in that doesn't scream 'big, butch, manly man' camera bag becuase I'm a girly.
I have looked at the Crumpler bags which I really like the look of but have heard they aren't very comfortable and are a bit fiddly to open and I did try one once and I needed the strength of 10 men just to get the velcro open.
All I want is a compact bag to fit my SLR & lens in that I can open quickly and get instant access to my camera but I also don't want it looking like a typical bearded, middle-aged, camera geek's bag (no offence to anyone who may be a bearded, midlle aged camera geek, it's just being a woman I don't want to look like one).
    Can anyone suggest anything ??

I've got two crumpler bags, one for camera and one for laptop, both are excellent, the velcro is strong but it does give slightly after a while.

You could customise a normal bag that fits the bill with bits of foam if you can't find something you like.

I have a Billingham original, I think they're attractive enough; I got that because I didn't want a bag that looked like a camera bag. Black on black would be a good choice I think.

Other than that, as said before, customizing a big bag (Billingham also do the little supports for the insides).

I use a crumpler ... and its the best bag I've ever used .. and I've had a few

OK, carrier bags aside (tut), what size Crumpler should I go for, the Lollipop one says it will hold an SLR with lens, or else I was thinking of a large or extra large Glamour (although the pictures on the Glamour 2 are a little on the twee side and a bit off putting) or maybe a Ben's Pizza (I'm on a tight Budget, make that VERY tight budget).

In your profile you say your expecting another child, so don't bother with another bag just throw the camera in one of the other bags filled with all the other stuff you'll need to carry around.

I've very tempting to joke...Grin But yes, I understand.
I use a smashing picnic hamper ruck-shoulder bag from next. It's insulated so the padding is thick, it has pocket for wine glasses, cutlary...that fit lenses and flash cards. An elasticated plate pocket that fits camera body exactly. It has a cool drinks holder that fits a tripod. There's a flap for napkins which is fab for filters and lens covers, and a pouch for condiments which fits purse, lippy and mascara Smile)))

What more could a girl want?

    Check out the July sale!

Patricia's sound ideal, I really dont think there is a bag thats designed for female photographers thats both practical and looks good, maybe there's a niche in the market Wink I go from bag to bag depending on what I'm carrying but nothing I use is ideal - or comfortable.

how about a small backpack, it will be more comfortable than a shoulder bag as after a while your shoulder is going to ache?
