Does anyone know if it is possible to set something up on a laptop or PC so that when I insert the CF card into the reader the entire contents are downloaded to a pre-prepared location on the hard drive?

I know it can be done on a Palm with Phojo but what about on a PC/Laptop?

Just thinking of speeding up the event printing side of things and cutting the hassle for my helper.

    Many Thanks

    Jamie

If I'm right then this thread may contain a possible answer.

    I stress the 'may' here...

Why not take a look at Downloader Pro. I have mine set so that inserting the card, downloads from the card into automatically named directories & files, backs-up the files to a different drive, then erases the card & soft ejects it..marvelous.

Assuming you're still using your Canon, the CameraWindow software that came with it will do just that. You ca nset the Preferences to create a dated folder and download all or just new images from the reader.

When the process is complete it automatically opens ZoomBrowser where you can rename the files to have a particular prefix or the shoot date plus number.
