If it had been the EU it would have had the Mail and the Telegraph shouting about it.

To quote directly from the Guardian's article:


Quote:"The BBC World Service is to receive a "significant" sum of money from the US government to help combat the blocking of TV and internet services in countries including Iran and China."


Why is this a problem? The US are our allies (in theory, at least), not so Iran and China.
