    ...has just been sentenced to 4 years imprisonment for fraud. I wonder if it will stick this time?

    And in no time at all he has had his sentence cut from 4 to 1 year under some amnesty law. I love it!

    I heard about this from the radio. It made me laugh when the reporter told us, Berlusconi is unlikely to be given a custodial sentance because in Italy people over 70 aren't sent to jail. Berlusconi made that law whilst he was in office!!!! Grin

    To cap it all, the sentence has to be validated by 2 more courts and the statute of limitations runs out in less than a year, which means the sentence will be quashed. Probably including the fine.

    What did you expect? It was all happening in Italy, after all!

    Berlusconi's setting foot in a prison is about as likely as Tony Blair being convicted for war crimes committed during the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
