Unfortunately they only made TV series from the first 2 books of the trilogy Sad

Tripods! Now that was addictive. Thought they did three seasons and dropped the fourth?
Agree with 'This Life' - it was cutting edge and also very real as I was a similar age living in a shared house in London at the time. And what a cast. Mostly unknowns at the time but went on to great things.
    Still love Spooks.
    The Professionals.
Waking the Dead and Silent Witness.
Life on Mars but didn't get on with the follow up.
I wish we had the balls to do something big and complex. If the dumbed down Americans can produce Lost, Heroes, The Wire, etc, why can't we?

    Callan!

Tripods - nope, only 2 seasons

(I still watch Spooks too, just don't think it rates in the "best" category now)
(and Waking the Dead - the last series had them digging for a body below the window of my bedroom when I was at Uni)

I mainly watch US stuff - CSI, NCIS, Lost, Heroes, The Unit, Numbers, etc
