I would assume landscape and nature would be 2 different subjects and therefore requiring different lenses. Personally I find the sigma 10-20 invaluable as a landscape lens. Although I will often use the 18-55 @ approx 50mm for panoramics (stitches). As for nature I would presume a 70-300..
Paul
What kind of landscape?
What kind of nature photography?
Both are broad subjects and frankly you can do either of them with everything from a super wide angle to a 1200mm long tom ![]()
landscapers all seem to use the 17-40 - me included
nature...
depends, if you're after wild animals at a distance, maybe the 500 F4L
if you're into mushrooms and little things, a 100mm macro would be handy
oh - definitely DO NOT buy a 10-20 for a 5D, unless you like round photos ![]()
About 70% of my landscapes are taken at 200mm or longer.
About 70% of some photographers landscapes are taken wider than 35mm.
Creative visualization is the prime requirement for good landscape, good lighting is second, finding the right location at the right time of day is third, and keeping the camera steady enough to record very fine detail is fourth.
I have not mentioned lenses at all - part because compared to the first 4 requirements they are not important and part because which lens you use (none is "best") depends on what is in front of the camera.
Similar comments apply to good wildlife photography.

You might be able to Barrie, I can't afford a 1200mm. ![]()

In that case might I suggest you start with a 200mm, a porn movie and some Viagra ![]()
lol @ Barrie. I take viagra and hot chocolate at night. Gives me a good nights sleep and stops me rolling out of bed. ![]()

Is this your idea of a stiff drink Ian?
I will talk with Canon side as i am a Canon shooter.
As crop bodies [1.6x]:
Canon 10-22 or Sigma 10-20
Canon 16-35
Canon 17-40
Maybe Canon 17-55
Canon 24-70 or 24-105 [sigma 24-70 can be used]
Sigma 12-24
Primes like 14, 15fisheye, 24, 35 can be used
As full frame or 1.3x:
16-35
17-40
24-70 or 24-105 [sigma 24-70 can be altern.]
sigma 12-24
primes will shine here with those cameras, i recommend from 35mm and wider.
