Or...................

Me: "This tastes really great"
Her: "I made it myself"
Me: "You must have a great set of kitchenware!"

I did actually say something similar, years ago, as a joke - it was received in stony silence! Grin

"My compliments to the can opener"

Quote:Her: "That's a nice tune you are playing, what is it"
Me: "It's one of mine, I wrote it"
Her: "It's lovely, you must have a good piano"

Working with a bad painao must be hell though

Best answer these days is - "Well actually, I took it with my mobile phone". Wink

Hmmm,

Starting to thing there might be a correlation between how much "you must have a good camera" upsets a person and how much their camera costs...

Well of course! If you take pics with a fairly basic camera phone, and someone compliments you on having a superb camera, you are bound to feel chuffed.

If you took the same photo with a Leica M9P (or whatever) you may feel less chuffed. Wink

For the first week of my new 60D camera i seemed to take worse pics than my old camera 400D :-( You need time to learn how to use any piece of equipment.

No, no, no! Her mate's pix were sharp and clear, a record of the event. Yours were artistic, an interpretation of the event by an auteur, a symphony in light and shade capturing the spirit, the joi de vivre of the occasion. Those who do not understand true art will judge your results harshly. Those who do will bid at Sotheby's for the framed print, entitled The Prizegiving, Leeds 2012

I've been mulling this over and asked my new, better camera to go out and take me a better photograph - it was useless, didn't move an inch! Tongue
