Many thanks for all the ideas folks. Appreciated.

Black Country Museum is a must, I think, and I see on their website that they are restricted on that Sat. due to the Olympic torch visiting.
So..thinking of looking at the Museum and Ironbridge on the Sunday, leaving Saturday to 'do' Birmingham the city.

Is the BC museum and Ironbridge /Blists Hill too much for one day?

What are recommended photo opps in the city, apart from the canal area?

Although Moseley has been suggesyed for B&B, Iwonder if NW of the city would be better due to wanting to visit BC Museum / Ironbridge...any recommendations in that direction?

    All ideas greatly appreciated.

I could spend the entire day at the Black Country Museum - there's loads there to keep you occupied (well there was about 4 years ago when I last visited).

Blists Hill is much much smaller and unless you do some of the other museums (which I've not done), you might be hard pushed to fill a day - well I would be!

Black Country Museum is a full day on its own, it's recently been added to as well, next door there is also barge trips available (they used to be part of BCM). Out of the two BCM is the best one to visit.

Blists Hill has also been increased in size and is also a full day

Just a thought The Severn Valley Railway is a great one to visit, with various stations to get on and off at Link

Alison / Stuart...thanks, I had a feeling that BCM would be more than enough for one day.

Let us know how you get on when you have done your trip, always nice to get new fresh opinions on these locations, 3 years sinse I last went and definetly a days visit, as is bliss hill, both are very different in there own way, if I had to choose which one then it would be Bcm first as both are about same size in area but Bcm has much more in that area.

Do a bit of Birminham and the Black Country as suggested, then head out into the green fields of Shakeseare's Warwickshire to see and compare its two famous castles.....at Kenilworth and Warwick, and then take the A429 into the Cotswolds to see Burford, Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold etc.

Don't forget , the amazing Coventry cathedrals and the nearby ....Motor Museum.....and the Air Museum at Baginton Airport.........A whizz into Stratford Upon Avon for the day is good too....pick a sunny day though.

    ENJOY!

Many thanks...my problem is I only have 2 full days to take all this in so I am going to have to pick and choose carefully.

I feel some serious shortlisting and planning coming on...Smile

Not sure this connection to "Landrover" would be of interest but here might be....Not cheap but quite an experience.

It's a fantastic experience, even if you are not into land rovers. I have been on two here in Norway - one in summer and even better, the winter one.....reeeally good.
Great idea thanks, but I am looking for new things to experience.
