Is anyone else watching this live?
Its such an example of down right pathetic theatre!
Why can't he just give a simple speech without the silly bandwagon of mindless idiots that follow him around?!
That room of prats sums up the Labour party nicely!

    What a circus?
    So now what happens?
Who will clear up the mess that has been created?

    Pathetic really,

We will all be paying the price for new Labour policies for many years to come. Anyone who has a pension scheme going can thank Labour for literally halving the value of their pension pot. Motorists are worse off, many on modest incomes will find themselves worse off next year when the 10p tax rate is abolished.

It will take years to get the nation's finances straight again.

    That's Gordon Brown's job, isn't it?

Not so sure about motorists... wasn't it Labour who removed import restrictions on new cars and forced the price of all cars down into line with the rest of Europe... but then this thread is to bury Blair not to praise him isn't it?

And how did pensions farein the years of regular boom and bust? The economy under Labour managed to ride out the .com fiasco without tipping over into a full blown recession...

We need to focus on the important issues, as was seen in last week's local elections, things like "how frequent is your dustbin emptied" - it's how issues like this are dealt with that really set a government apart.

Well its over and he will be going soon. Thank God Labour got us the Olympics!

To be honest some of that speech was not bad, he put his hands up and admitted a few thing went wrong and thats coming from someone who is very anti Blair!

Not sure that they sorted out the NHS, I worked in it for years and it is no better that it was under the Tories.

Cherie will soon be off my TV too and that has to be a good thing!

To be honest the war in Iraq is one of the few good thing Blair did. His biggest mistake there is that he lets the USA make the big decisions!

Another gripe I have with this is that Brown will now be PM but has not been voted for by the public. Although the public generally vote for a party the leader of that party and the ability of said person to be PM is a major issue when voting!

It's not like he's the head of state... and it's not without precedent... Lloyd George, Macmillan, Churchill and quite a few others... John Major anyone?

the next will be the westlothian question
with all the countries having their own
    parliments.
    wales ,northern ireland.scotland all having
    1st ministers.
    scotland will have two
    one in charge of scotland
and another in charge of England.
    should Mr brown
be allowed two bites of the cherry.
    does he get two wages
    one for his scottish seat
    one for his english job.

Has he been elected to the Scottish Parliament?

Quote: It's not like he's the head of state

It rather is nowadays - he's not really the head of state but its like he is, with the actual HoS taking a very back seat, and the PM exercising royal prerogative.
