    Hi Everyone,
I'm not the greatest Photoshop user at all but I have been given some work by a very 'High up the ladder' MEP so I don't want to chuff it up if I can help it.
I'm looking for a tutorial concentrating on how to create a montage of images blending into each other..................type of thing? If you catch my drift.#
I'm asking whether anyone knows of such a tutorial on here?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure about tutorial but if prepare a blank page then open up the images u want to use and do exercise to each of them...

crop your image to desired size , then select marque tool but feather by 30 pixels, make your desired selection over your image then duplicate layer and drag that feathered layer onto your new page and repeat with each image.

U will end up with however many images on your new page that u will b able to rotate, resize and move etc.

Not sure if this is exactly what u wanted but that's how I interpreted it. If this doesn't make sense message me and I'll try and help Smile

    Thanks again. Wink

there's probably 1000 ways to do it - I'd probably use layers "masks", they're not exactly the most simple concept at first, but once learned, they are very powerful things and well worth the effort... see if you can find something on Youtube that describes their use Smile

Here's a video that shows you how to do it.

I don't know which version of Photoshop you use, but the extract tool in CS5 is brilliant. Since upgrading I no longer use complex channel selections.

If you're using CS5 then this may or may not be of use [more likely not but this is as good a place as any to give people a heads up]:

    Hi Simon,

Have you tried that "Triptych" thing?
I've just been to your link and from what I saw there, the results looked the same as you can get using the "collage" tool in Picasa.
Don't misunderstand me here, I'm not decrying it. I haven't used it yet. It just seems like it might be a little overkill?
    Just a thought.

    Jester.
