    HI, I have just purchased a Fuji Finepix S 5000 ( first camera) and have a problem with blue spots on some shots.
    In some photos there is up to 3 or 4 large spots.
    Can I use a filter to reduce or eliminate this problem.
    If so which type.

    The CCD has been damaged and it sounds like some pixels are "stuck" on recording blue light.

    If you still have warranty/receipt, I'd advise you to take it back and see if you can try out the replacement to make sure it has a fully functional CCD.
