Read a prediction last night, that they might quit at the end of the 2009 season, but this morning they have announced they are going to!!!

You are right CB, its not like BMW are a sports brand either. I hear they are now entering "what Caravan tow car of the year" and pipe and slippers monthly pin-up competitions ![]()
Having force India cars fly past must have hurt their pride too.
I think it would be better if they and a few other car manufacturers put more effort into the UK touring car series.
Quote: F1 has become a tad farcical anyway. BMW is well out of it all.
Hear hear! It needs radical change - from the top down.

They actually won that some years ago. (Yes, really.) ![]()

With the forthcoming ban on RWD cars? I don't think so!
Never mind, when J. Clarkson ( former BMW-hater) states that one of the models (latest Z4) is a car he'd be happy to have for the rest of his life, it can't be too bad. ![]()
Quote: sports brand either
So being in F1 makes Renault and Toyota "sports brands" eh? Interesting concept.
(Probably news to the manufacturers concerned, too!)
Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Lotus and Porsche aren't in F1 either, so no chance of them ever being seen as sports brands I guess?
Clarkson changes to suit the direction of the wind - and he's got plenty of that.
I see the Beeb let him off after another "off camera" insult to the Prime Minister made in front of the studio audience.
Disgraceful behaviour.

The BMW mini is FWD and gets bigger with every version so why not?
As for the Z4 true what Clarckson said, but then the sports brand Renault (Nissan Division) was lower cost and put in the better lap time ![]()

I agree

Cos it will win everything (like the original Mini)? ![]()

But was stated to be a noisy and generally unpleasant car! ![]()
A Caterham R500 could get around the track quicker than both (and even beat a Bugatti Veyron) but you wouldn't want to take your great-aunt in it! ![]()
