As a starter why not try to print out some sections of your software help topics, I did this when I first got a PC with photdeluxe 4 and learnt quite a bit from them.

Not books, but take a look at various articles on

    Luminous Landscape

    Computer Darkroom

Forums like this one, and on Fred Miranda, DPReview etc can also be most helpful.

Are you just a digital beginner, or a beginner in photography? Most of the basics are no different.

teach yourself Digital photography by Peter Bargh. ISBN 0-340-86749-3 only 9.99 from the WH Smith teach yourself range. Highly recommended. Pop into WH Smiths and look through it before deciding if its suitaable for you.

    Hi J.
Forget the books,by far the best way is CD tutorials. My favorites are those by Barrie Thomas and Barry Beckham. You dont get bogged down with techy text and you can run them at the same time as you work on the image. Regards Tony.
