Hi guys, I've been asked by my Brother-in-laws girlfriend to look into what would be a good choice camera for him, for christmas.
Basically he is after something that is of a similar quality to an SLR but without the bulk, and so that he can learn, while growing into the hobby (possibly) max budget is £500, my initail reaction would have been a low end SLR but then I thought about the new mirrorless cameras (i.e the Lumix G2) but I know nothing about these types of cameras, and was hoping someone here would?
Any advice on if these things are any good, and if so what to look for would be greatly appreciated.
The Lumix G2 is not a bridge camera. A bridge camera looks like a small slr but has a fixed lens.

The Samsung nx10 has also had some good reviews.
