Bloody hell, strike me down with a thunder bolt. I,m agreeing with Chris_L
I'm gonna do a few more test prints and see just how far out my screen is. I've got one of thoses new back lit screens which some calibration units are keen on. They are also know to be too bright and need to be turned down quiloss bit for true image viewing

Re judges throwing images out of comps
Sometimes i think people care more about the technical qualities and not the artistic qualities of an image. It doesn't matter how technically skillful and image is, if it's boring you wont get any more people want to look and it by just being perfectly produced.
However A wonderful image maybe technically poor but is pleaseing the the eye and enjoyed by many

Quote: Its not just the backlighting that needs time to warm and settle, Its all the other components that need time to warm up, 30 minutes is a minimum for chips and stuff to reach ideal operating tempratures......Grin

I guess not a point worth contesting, as I doubt many people grope around for their puck the moment they've switched on... Tongue
