What software are you using, and what type of machine (Windows or Mac), and operating system?

Hi, use the software that came with the camera to convert your raw files to tiff/jpeg or whatever you want then you will be able to view them, hope this helps. Rod

I don't think the latest Adobe raw works with CS3 only CS4/5. You can download Adobe DNG convertor and convert your raw files to DNG then CS3 will open them.

Camera Raw 4.6 should support Canon 450D files. Try the update function from CS3.

As you know CS3 won't read these raw files .
How I got around this was download the free Adobe DNG converter , then both CS3 & Bridge will open in the raw converter and can be veiwed in bridge.
    Hope this might help

If you are using CS3 and ACR 4.6 you should be able to 'see' your RAW files. Check which version of Camera RAW you have and if it is earlier than 4.4 you must download the later version. If as you say and you have downloaded Adobe Camera RAW and it was 4.6 then the chances are that the correct procedure was not followed. Check the instructions again on the download page. Note later versions of ACR will not be compatible with CS3. (To check which version you have click on any jpeg in the Bridge and in the File Menu click on 'Open in Camera RAW' You will see the version number on the top left of the ACR screen that opens.) Here is the link to 4.6 if you don't already have it. - John

    CS3 reads my 450D files
It won't however read CR2 files from the 7D files
