I find old cameras very interesting. Or more properly, the whole process in which they were used. Somwhere in between the fascination of vintage vehicles, steam engines etc., and the active archeology of the Victorian Farmer series. But this can easily blend over into artistic endeavour, in finding out how to use the equipment and what you can do with it.
But I don't do nearly as much as I mean to because the digital cameras are much more practical. And modern cameras are simply interesting in terms of usability.
The cameras and lenses that I have do approximately what I want, so there is no need to take much interest in newer models. But they aren't quite what I would like, so keeping a wary eye on developments seems quite sensible. Just not an end in itself.
A camera that is interesting in its own right - I don't claim it's brainy, but I like it's style.

I haven't used it yet. ![]()
Truth is I have to refix the bellows and the back as it's not strong enough.
I had trouble finding the right film holders, and decided to use a modern 4x5 back from some repro kit.
However it should be quite usable. Maybe this summer. ![]()
