I give up!!!

Do you know if you Google maritime photographs you get 3,170,000 sites but if you Google 'cave photographs' you get 4,010,000 sites and if you Google blurred photographs you get a remarkable 4,360,000 - so there you go as strong an argument for those two categories as I can make at my own expense.

Mr Beken will turn in his grave!!

Best wishes

Robert

PS: Transport has just 3,180,000 sites so perhaps there is still hope???

I feel that if any more catagories are introduced then they will become sub catagories. An example would be 'Close-up and Macro'. This could be split into 'Insect Macro' and 'non-animal Macro'. They just become a specialised area of a catagory. The same would be true ( IMO ) of seascapes. If you want to find specifically seascapes, then the tag search ought to bring up the required photos.

Alan.

Do we get many posts in the Fashion and Transport catagories? Also, being a bit nit picky I know, but how do you post Traditional Darkroom on here? I'm not meaning to put those catagories in a lesser status, I was just wondering if they receive much use.

New catagories that might be used frequently are; Candid, or Candid/Street Photography. How about a facility for Themes, Series, or Photo Essays. One may designate a set of photos as such now in the present arrangement, but this is only recognizeable if the viewer reads the posters comments, which is not always the case.

A couple years ago Patricia Fenn ran a series of photos of renovations being done by local workers at her premises; it was followed with interest by many of us, due as much by her witty comments as by the photos themselves. I have mentioned this type of posting before, and still believe it would be of value to the site, and it's members, as a tool to get feedback on a members ability to post interesting photo themes, with equally descriptive and entertaining comments.

Just a few random thoughts.Smile
