DigitalRev have the 40d priced at 711.17 delivered, including Import Handling for UK Import VAT/Duty!

Are they the cheapest at the moment?

Personally I'd rather go here and get it for an extra 68 that has a full UK warranty and stops any hassle if it needs to be returned.

Like I just did, and you get a "free" Sandisk card too.

When are you expecting it Peter?
I don't think the price will come down that much so am toying with going for it myself.

I was looking at Jessops, 806, 3 year warranty, and a 2G memory card (Web pricing) no P&P to add. But given it has only been out a week and the price is falling almost daily is it worth waiting?

Oh and I had a quick play with one, handling wise it was what I expected, but I do not think it will be any more weatherproof that the 20D/30D.

I am only interested in the image quality and the noise control, compared to 5D and 1D MK III.

From images I have seen, not as good, but that is no surprise it costs about half as much as the 5D. Think of it as a slight improvement to the 20/30D.

Thing is how good do you need?

It needs to be as good as 5D...Smile But sadly, there is no live view on 5D.

Why do you need live view? And why do you need to have 5D levels of noise.

For example if you can print both at A3 and struggle to tell the difference.....

Just a question not tried it so no real idea where the two sit, yet.

Because I want it! Smile

*seriously though, I want live view as I found lots of times it is very hard to look through viewfinder, especially for us with '4 eyes'.

* For noise level, I prefer to have cleaner pics when I have to push up the ISO.

Got mine from Jessops yesterday and they did it for what it would cost me from the web, ie 779 + 7.95 postage, so saved about 20 on their shop price, not a huge saving, but they were helpful, friendly and it didn't have to come though the post.

It had better be here tomorrow otherwise there will be a row! (I have a short attention span!)

Showing in stock and "EPZ Shop" is usually pretty efficient.
