There is a review on this site. Its basically a eos 30 without the eye control, and for 140 quid is pretty good. It has its faults, but the review will explain those for you.

I have the 33 as well and they are usually 299 new so a good condition one for 140 looks good. I would like one as a back up and that would be a price I would pay. - steve

I've got one of these recently and I think it's very good. The vertical grip accesory is well worth getting if you are doing portraits

I have two EOS 30's (primary & backup) for weddings & portraiture. Except for one bad trait, crummy low light level auto-focusing, it's a great camera! If you get into low light level photo shooting, use one of the Canon dedicated flash units like the 420ex or the 550ex. They put out an assist beam for focusing. Or else focus manually. One other thing - you cannot replace the focusing screen with something like a grid, or split image. Per Canon, you cannot replace this item like you can with the EOS 1 (& I believe the EOS 3 you can too.) Definitely get the battery grip. It makes the camera fit your hand & it has a vertical shutter release on it.

Is the battery grip the BP=300 one for the eos 33?

From my understanding, the BP300 grip fits both the EOS 30 and EOS 33.
At least I hope so as that's the one I'm planning to get for my 30! ;o)

It's the same grip. The only difference between the EOS30 & EOS33 is that the EOS30 has "eye focus" capability.

Well I got the Camera and a remote swith RS60 e3 from my lolcal camera shop for 150.00 and i am looking foward to having a play and trying to get used to it over the weekend.

That's a pretty good price. I was looking at buying a 33 or 30 for a while as a backup to my EOS 10D (the bodies are very similar). What's the name of your local camera shop? Smile

No they dont have a website, its jsut a small sole traders shop still only selling Film stuff (digitals refered to as a sware word lol) all the stuff is secondhand but its very cheap and a lot of the stuff I have got from him has been mint condition, I got a 2X teleconverter for an Eos ef mount, 7 Element by tele plus for 30 on saturday the same one one sold on ebay about about two weeks ago for 97.00

He gets a lot in and most of the Eos stuff will be there for about two days at the most before being sold.
