Hi
I'm asking this on behalf of a friend, what is the difference between the 400 D Rebel XTi and the 400D. Why are there two different names to it?
Also, this lens, is it still being sold, am I right in thinking that a newer version has come out?
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens
He's seen a reconditioned Rebel XTi and the above lens for sale but I thought I'd just ask a couple of questions on here on his behalf.
Any comments appreciated. Personally, I wouldn't buy a reconditioned one and I think I'll tell him that too.
Lisa
Don't know about the camera but Canon are now selling a 70 - 300 IS lens - I beleive there were problems with the earlier 75 - 300 lenses and they had some bad press (try looking up a review of the lens)
I know a few people who have bought reconditioned cameras with no problems.
Cameras have different names in other countries - XTi etc are often made for sale in the USA
400D and Xti are the same camera. The only difference is the naming. In Europe its the 400D in the states the XTi. In Japan its the Kiss Digital X
Yeah the 75-300IS has been replaced by the 70-300IS and the new lens is much much better.
White box basically means its a Canon refurb. It may be an ex demo or a customer return but it will be just like a new one.
