Lots of rumours over the last few days regarding the 5Ds successor - can't do links but google it to check it out. US release date 2nd June? There's a 'rumoured' spec on one of the Alamy forum pages & it looks the business if true. Anyone know anything about this?
Ian
Apparently it's going to be 20 megapixels, weigh about the same as the current one, have WIFI, and MP3 player and a small repository for a hip flask - it's been requested by landscapers who get cold waiting for sunsets and wanted somewhere to keep a dram of whiskey.
Also, it's got an aphrodisiac effect causing any man using it to be irresistable to squirrels, grey and red alike.
it has a button that inflates it to be a dinghy so you can go for a sale AND take under water photos
It also has a small supply of saffron for those awkward times when you go to a restaurant and your food is lacking that little bit of colour.
Ade ..Sounds just the thing for me...When does it hit the shops..![]()

I didnt' mention the inflatable rock and tree option - so anyone can get that perfect foreground at the click of a button.
The 5d Mk II rumour appears to have started on DPReview - noted for its accuracy (ahem, ahem!
)
More about all this here.
I'm liking the ISO 12800 (expandable to 25600)... if it's true. The price of $3499 will probably translate to about £2000 once tax and the "UK premium" are added. So it won't be a cheapie.
The rumour also indicates no new pro bodies from Canon in 2008.

Yep, I've seen that, but I'll believe it when I see it.
The sepc just looks a bit too much of a 'wish list' to me - I want the high ISO performance of the D3, the build of the D300, the frame rate of the 40D, and a trick new AF system, high rec LCD, bla bla bla.
It just seems a bit too early for Canon to be reacting to the exact spec of the new Nikons. Would have thought development times are longer than that.
