It will do 5fps it also has mirror lock up and spot mettering. Its a great camera some have had problems with the comand dial switch breaking this is because there is a button that needs to be pressed down and people dont always do it and this breaks the switch but most will have been replaced with a new switch and the new switch is a re-design that does not break.

The EOS 3 is also a great camera but will cost a bit more.

    Hi John,

I recently had to get a film SLR for college and I managed to get a good deal from here Came with a 3 month warrantee too. I got the EOS 1 for 200 (5 FPS) in the end and Im very pleased as a 1n was another 150 and was a bit over budget for me.

Digital EF-s lenses will not work on these film bodies though.

    Hope this helps,

    Joss.

i take it the higher the number(ie 300v or 500n) the worse the model becomes is that right?

Personally if I were you I would go for the EOS 3 and get yourself a power drive increases the FPS. Not to sure as to what. It's also got eye control which I find useful. Nice little camera but as mention before may be a bit out of budget

Preety much yes they are the more basic cameras, the EOS 3 is a modern camera and the EOS 5 is over 10 years old now but is a great camera for its price you can sometimes pick them up on ebay for under 100.00 there is a battery grip VG-10 you can get that will allow you to use more battery power in the grip and also gives you a vertical shutter button.

what does the eos 1 have that seperates itself from the others.i was told my digi lenses would work with film eos's

Hi John, a lot is going to depend on your budget. The EOS 5 with 5fps will cover most requirements and has been said is available for little money.
The EOS 3 at 7fps (with powerdrive fitted) is still on the market today. I have owned both these in the past (in fact I have an EOS 3 + powerdrive for sale at the mo) The 3 IMO is the last 35mm camera you will ever need to buy, it is simply so far ahead of any other Canon model (without going to the 1 series) In fact it beats some of the older EOS 1's for features.

as long as you do not have the the canon 18-55 17-85 or 10-22mm then I think these are the only EFS lenses all the other canon lenses that fit digital should work with film unless they are the sigma DC lenses.

cheerz al,what sort of price are you gonna be asking for it is the motor drive an ad on?how much was that?will digi lenses wowith film bodies?thanx

i've got the 18-55 ef-s that comes with the 300d kit
