Canon IXUS 240 HS WiFi to FTP server and USB mass storage mode questions

24 Apr 2013 1:31PM
Setting USB mode to Mass Storage / Pict Bridge

On various web sites I have read that my Canon IXUS 240 HS can present itself as a 'mass storage' or PictBridge device when connected via USB.

I can find no camera menu setting for this nor any reference to such a setting in the Camera or WiFi User PDF Guides.1

If at all possible I want to avoid loading the software that was supplied by Canon with the 240HS as windows provides all the capability I need.

WiFi to an FTP server

Is it possible to use its WiFi facility to upload images into an FTP server running on my network? Again, I'd rather not run some Canon specific utility on my already bloated host PC.
