I'm just new to the forum so apologies if this has been covered recently.

Has anyone ever used the Canon outlet shop on ebay? They've got some really good prices on EOS 400D's that I'm planning to buy.

Has anyone had problems or does anyone envisage problems with 'refurbished' stock?

Not heard of any problems with the kit. They are however famous shillers so you may pay a bit more than you should.

What's a shiller?

One other thing - does anyone know if the spec of the silver 400D and the black 400D is identical?

Is it solely a colour difference?, as the silver one seems to sell for a good bit less.

i think that may be down to desire, as black cameras are more desirable, therefore can be sold for more and still bought. but identical

Black looks more pro, so thats why it costs more!

Thank god I'm an amateur, it means I can buy the cheap silver stuff.

Shiller - I think means shill bidder (?)

Getting somebody you know to put bids in on your item so as to bump the price up.

Thanks for the replies guys. Even with shillers the 400d is going for a pretty tasty price! I think I'll go for the less-pro silver one and put the saved difference towards a lens in the future!!

Thanks

Bought a 350D from them-"B" stock but indistinguishable from new with full guarantee and quick delivery.

I have bought a Canon G5 and a printer from them. Both advertised as refurbished and both came in a condition and packaged so that you could not distinguish from new.
The prices were very good too. I had no problems dealing with them.

Have a look at a trader on ebay called Kerso, he has some good prices, even better if you email him & buy them direct. He brings the kit in from the states, but sells them from the UK. Got a great deal on a 70-200 in December.

What's Kerso's e-mail?

Does bodies and lenses. Got my 1D2n from him along with all my lenses

EDIT: And you still get a warranty, if Canon UK wont honour it he will take the stuff back and send a replacement

So no UK Warranty then...
