I have just purchased A canon 9000 pro printer and am not too happy with the black and white prints.
Can anyone advise on producing exhibition mono prints from this machine.
Thank you in antcipation.

Matt paper ? I find the texture more appropriate.
It's why there's a 9500. The 9500 does true grey printing and carries extra black ink to compensate. The 9000 does composite grey from the colour palette.
Sorry cant help as I have the same problems on my Canon IP8500 bought 2 years ago. Brownish color cast for B&W prints.
you need a custom profile setting up for the specific paper you are using and let photoshop control the colours not the printer,
its a problem just about everyone has, i used scs imaging sheffield,
used to have magenta caste now beautiful blacks.
Thanks guys. I think profling may be the way to go.
