Seems like it - but then I always understood the LE version would come first.

Looks like some nice new features - compare different varients of the same image, new adjustment tools including shadows and highlights and a rotation tool. Looks like it will cut down some more Photoshop time at any rate

LOL - don't try downloading the beta version just now though - seems to have crashed on their system - too many people on there at once?!

Site seems to be down at the moment, or extremely busy. Looks interesting... will keep trying.

Bruce.

Took a browse of the video clips.

I suppose all RAW converters basically do the same thing so it is not unexpected that some of the new features are very similar to those in Adobe's Lightroom.

Just downloaded it, though it needs .Net framework v3 so that'll take a while to download too Sad

So is this the 1 free major upgrade I should get with my version of capture 3.7.7 LE, or should I wait until the non Beta version is released before making the upgrade? It seems I can download the Beta version for free without needing to upgrade my present version.

Chris - direct download from here.

SlimTim- Betas shouldn't count as upgrades AFAIK.

Well I have been using it for a little while and it seems pretty stable for a beta. Certainly much more usable than the Lightroom betas.
UI seems to have taken a lot of the good features from Lightroom & aperture and made them workmanlike rather than gimicky.
Variants are a great addition and seem to work well.

Cheers Chris - any idea what the system requirements, OS, etc, are? Couldn't find anything about that.

Don't worry, got through to the page - XP SP2 or Vista, looks like I won't be bothering Sad

Not had time to have a proper play yet, but on first impressions I am very impressed, especially as it looks like the DAM facilities are 100% better then previous versions ie ratings & DNG support, I haven't tested yet whether or not the DNG's produced feature embedded previews or indeed whether or not metadata such as the ratings stay with the images when imported into IView, I have noticed that an RAW file in one my IView catalogues wouldn't open in C1 4 using C1 as an helper application, which maybe an issue when you may want to process a DNG
