Cash back problems!

I bought a Canon 400D in July 2007 and submitted an application for a 50 refund. Despite numerous telephone calls and letters to Canon in Eire I have received nothing. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Some have, some haven't had a problem. My 400D cashback took a month at around the same time as yours. And a cashback on a 24-70L only took 2 weeks.

I applied for canon cash back at a similar time and phoned with no luck so far despite reasurance from the call centre that it would be sorted soon that was over a month ago.

I've had Canon cashbacks on 4 items now. They all arrived.................... eventually!

It's one of those "Don't hold your breath" things! Wink

Don't Canon realise that any goodwill engendered by the cash back is lost if there is a delay in paying it or do they just not care? Probably the latter sadly!

Do canon state how quickly they will send the cash back? If not I don't think any goodwill will be lost well certainly not by me
I've claimed on a good few items in the past and always received it although not quickly

Took 6 weeks for my 5D cash back. Not personally known of any problems getting it but it takes time. 3 months seems a long time though.

they say 28 days on their literature, and sent me a letter and referred me to a website saying that the refund was on it way a month ago. so I think some criticism is justified

I think my quickest was 3 weeks, and slowest 3 months

In that case I agree

OK there have a been a couple of posts about this. I bought my 400D and submitted my refund request in April. I late May they told me I had been paid in November 2007! I'm still waiting. I recently upgraded to a 40D and I' wondering whether I can really be bothered to put myself through it again.

I have had no problem. Bought a 100-400 L IS USM at the beginning of the month and received cashback cheque yesterday
