I'm not sure what but would it be possible to do one just using elements 2 or 3? I've been really impressed with your previous tutorials but I can't do all of the stuff you suggest.
    Michael

I have never used elements, but I will do some "research", maybe some tutorials can be "translated", I can't promise anything though.

I will wager there are more people on EPZ using Elements than the "full" version of PS.

I have used both, but got on much better with Elements so have stuck with that.

So, what would be the main difference between them?

Well its basically the same program as CS but with less tools etc... Don't have layer masks, curves, etc... Not a great expert on what the differences are, maybe Pete or someone could help?

Don't worry I will find out. Wink
    EDIT:
So far, and correct me if Im wrong, Missing Features are:
    -CMYK colors
    -palette Channels
-Actions palette (cannot make own actions)
    -Curves
    -Layer masks
    -some Layer Style functions
    -some Web components

Also there seems to be a way to "unlock" some of this features, layer masks for instance.

And there is THIS technique make layer masks with Elements.

In theory that would allow to use the Tutorials that rely on layer masks.

Ok, can someone check the technique for layer masks above and see if it works? I dont have "elements" to try it. Smile

We decided we are going to attempt a "Polaroid Lift Effect" for this months Tutorial.
I made an image that you can see HERE
    Feedback is needed. Smile

Hi Takui. The main difference as I understand it between Elements and the full PS version is that the latter has a lot of features which are intended for professionals in the graphic arts industry, printing, pre-press composition etc, whereas PS Elements is aimed a photographers.

Maybe this would make a good POLL to find out which programme is used by the majority of the people using this site.

    What do you think Pete?
