Takes me back - my first "proper" camera was a Chinon CE4s bought from Dixons back in December 1981 when I was 13 yrs old. I was saving hard to buy my first SLR and was torn between the Chinon (which was a better spec for the money) and the Ricoh KR10. The camera was, if I remember rightly, about £130 with the 50mm f1.7 and my Mum and Dad helped me out with the last £50 as my Christmas present allowing me to get the camera earlier than expected.
Happy days when life was so much less complicated!

Quote: On the speed selector what is the B for?
When the dial is set to the B (bulb) setting you can hold the shutter open for as long as the release is pressed down. The release button has a threaded centre that accepts a cable release. If you get one with a lock you can open and lock the shutter for long exposures. This is used for shooting car trails or star trails or exposures in very low light. You need to put the camera on a steady support (tripod) to prevent camera shake.
i have alot of film my wife bought me but the speed is 400, there is speed for the film on my camera , is it pretty useless? or can i still use it on a diffrent setting , thanx alot by the way for the B info
