    Hi all
I thought it should be aired that a number of images are being lifted from here and reposted at a site called pixdaus.com
I have had a number of images reposted at the site by others, some giving credit but in most cases not.
It is apparant that the web masters of the site allow this sort of thing to occur quite openly and without intervention .
The purpose of the site I'm unsure of, however it is apparant that a lot of the images are requested by would be buyers requesting how they can purchase the images from the poster.
Be assured I do not wish to give Pixdaus any credence or further encouragement to allow this reposting of peoples work .

There is facility to have the images removed by emailing the site operators ( email address on the site ) however if the image has not been credited the site requires you to join( at a fee!) to contest the copyright infringement .
Ephotozine is not the only site the posters there plunder with some extremely well known professional photographers works appearing there also .
Surely this cant be allowed or accepted .
I would welcome any advise as to how to stop this occuring or continuing .

Also folks, I suggest you keep children away from this site - the random option throws up images that many would consider pornography - artistic but rather too blatant for family viewing.

Presume only pics with the modification are affected - is this so. Colin

    Their disclaimer says
Quote: Disclaimer: Pixdaus.com is an environmental photo-bookmarking and sharing service. All the pictures are uploaded by users and the copyrights belong to the rightholders. If you find a photo that you think shouldn't be here, send a removal note to pixdaus@environmentalgraffiti.com

it looks more like a photo bookmarking site, its a bit of a mess though and nothing really organised. Ive spotted a couple of famous shots on there and they have been copyrighted to the correct tog, it says that they encourage posting of work from others that inspires you as long as you get permission form the owner, something i think is not happening.

Do you mean only pics where people have clicked "allow modifications" on Epz? If so I doubt it would make any difference at all, the modification option makes no difference to how easy it is to steal an image.

Ahh well I'm confused. The images (normally) are no wider that 600pixels which I presume is use;ess for anything other than a web upload. Even if they were 1000 pixels as in E2 would the same logic apply -- I'm not to well up on webby thingy's.. Colin

For sure even a 1000 pixels is hardly going to make it to " Vogue " magazine....Smile

Would be interesting if it did, Just think of the following law suit you could file....Wink

Please please pretty please....Nick some of mine and sell them to National Geographic, My solicitor awaits your reply....Smile

I have taken a 1000px pic, run it through Qimage & printed it at A4 - looks pretty good. I should think you could easily sell it to the unwary.

I also recently had cause to print a 600x800 pixel image at 12" x 18", a few weeks back and apart from a few jaggies on one diagonal line the results were pretty impressive.

Found some of John Parminter's ones already, and Looboss's and Rgarrigus's, plus a number that look familiar but are uncredited or names I don't particularly recognise, and a pile by Ian Cameron, and that's just in the Scotland section!

was taken from here and posted by a user called cunardline.
The site is riddled with copyright infringements .The site operators ignore the obviously severe infringements of copyright and just carry on .

There was a thread on here about Pixdaus and using other peoples' images a while ago.
It prompted me to have a look which, in turn meant joining it.
I haven't been there since but I've just looked and I'm still a member.
    And it's still shambles.
    Jester.
