Quote: The act of explaining something to another person makes you think about things in more detail and frequently results in you spotting the problem yourself.
Yes and usually the solution is not as complex as you were assuming.

Quote: There's an idea for an image too!
Please feel free! Doesn't say much for my creative talent as I never thought about that
No Ross, it was your idea, even if you didn't "see" the connection.
The reason I started the post is I'm trying to get a stimulus to finish an image in my minds eye before I actually collect all the source images.
When I started a recent project I started with this image I'm my minds eye (minus the dice) which I thought was a little too obvious / cliched - I then wrote a series of words associated with children and a dangerous situation - I wrote down (amongst many others) toys, toy box, gamble which lead onto dice. The image I settled on was This.
I'm just at a slight block at the moment I know what I want to convey in terms of the message, but I want to lift it away from the cliched.
Blimey NIck, if you can imagine and produce quality images like these, just stuffed with messages and emotion, then I can't see where your block is. I loved this series and I'm happy to claim your cast offs as mine if you're not satisfied with them.
LOL... Thanks Chris. No I'm extremely happy with them, probably my favourite images to date (of mine, certainly the gamble). The point I was making is I'm looking at another series, and just looking for other ways of conveying a message.
Just starting this thread has done that to a degree, similar to what Ian was saying. I was starting to think the literal rather than lateral (if that makes sense). The image I'm thinking about is one where I saw something a while back, I don't want to make a facsimile of it - rather use it as a start.
