Can any one recommend one of the many CS5 manuals books that are on the market.
Martin Evening and Scott kelby and the Adobe own version appear to be v popular, but not too sure about Scott Kelby's approach in my old CS3 book
I have a book token burning a hole in my pocket ready to buy soon, so any thoughts will be welcome

Hard to beat the Dummies Books, i.e. Photoshop for Dummies CS5.

You Tube is always worth a look - you can usually find most things on there in some little vid

I have to say that I prefer Martin Evening's books, not least because he writes in English rather than American. If you like video tutorials (I don't; I much prefer books), then Ade's suggestion is well worth exploring.

    thanks folks
token is for WH Smith, who I find a bit more expensive than amazon, and not such a wide range, so I will go in soon and have a look see.

Another vote for Martin Evening's books. I've been using his "Adobe Photoshop CSX for Photographers" guides since CS to CS5 and they seem to cover just about everything. I haven't tried his companion "Ultimate Workshop" books yet!

Martin Evening "Adobe Photoshop CS5 For Photographers" is the one I bought and I think it's very good. No mention of video editing functions in it, but I can live with that. I'll look online for tutorials when I need them.

I asked a similar question on the alamy forum not long ago and several people recommended getting the CS2 edition of Martin Evenings book, as well as the latest version. Apparently it contains a lot of tricks and tips that were dropped from later versions to make room for the new Photoshop features. I picked up a good clean copy for less than four quid from an amazon re-seller, and that included the DVD and postage..!

    PS - I bought Scott Kelby's CS2 book, when I was using CS2, but I wasn't impressed.
