When the D200 was released there was a pretty comprehensive firmware update that came out for the D2x.

What do you reckon the chances of teh same coming out for the D200 this time round and if it does what do you think will be contained within?

Apart from a revamp of the menues or a few custom functions I cannot see what of the D300 changes can be done without a Hardware update. A subtle re-tune of the AF strategy?

Also the driver will not be there for Nikon. Having the low cost camera with better functions is not good, but why improve the D200? No sales in that.

you could say that but the firmware update for the D2x was fantastic and covered far more than we would normally expect. Should Nikon continue with a policy of a major firmware update for the when a new model is brought out then im sure people will look more to them for the longevity of an camera. In the long turn that could turn into more sales as people know they will be supported not ignored in the tech race

Yeah! I'd like to see a raft of improvements in the D200, just can't remember what though Wink

Still, it would be nice to think that we'd get some support, sometime...... maybe?
