Date Imprint from EXIF

I have 400+ record photos onto which I would like to imprint the date they were taken.

Does anyone know of a PS plugin or standalone program that could do this using the EXIF data? I'm using PS Elements 2.

I suppose I could create a new layer with just a date on it, typed in manually. Can I write a batch file macro that will overlay that layer on each photo?

A quick search of Adobe Studio Exchange and brought up this below. Don't know if it works with elements but you may be able to modify it.

You could get the latest version of Elements and change/ or add the EXif date to them all at once with a click of the mouse in the Organiser :}

Or using ACDSee8 you can create a exif data template and add all the information you want in a batch command.
