Almost posted this in the Portrait with bokeh category the other day, but didn't think it qualified. A triptych of sparrows taken with a Tamron 500mm mirror lens to show how the characteristic "doughnut" bokeh shows up.
As above, but a similar shot at a larger size. You can see frrom this and the triptych that there is no doughnut problem against a clear sky, only when there are dark leaves or similar.
NOT with a macro lens but an 80/400 at the 400mm end.
