Show us shots taken in villages. They can be colourful chocolate box style shots, viewpoints that show flower displays, photos of shops etc.

Why? What is anyone learning by uploading these?
I just don't get it?
Maybe it's just fun. The thing that photography used to be about for most people before we got bogged down into megapixels and "my cameras better than your camera" arguments ![]()
When I do join in then yes it's for fun - I prefer, if I can, to upload something new rather than go through my archives which means I don't join in too frequently but it's good to think about something different to my usual subject matter.
Plus I was lucky enough to win a Smugmug website last week so that's an added bonus ![]()
Quote: What is anyone learning by uploading these?
1) Quite a few people already have shots in their library that fits the daily theme.
2) I do not get about and about enough and when I do the range of subject matter is very limited compared to everyone else.
3) If you read the the daily article / technique tips that go with the daily theme you pick up some good ideas here and there.
4) Most people indicate a location which I make a note of if it interests me / not too far to go and "discover"
Quote: for learning, for motivation and encouragement, for a challenge
Ok, point taken, fair enough. I'll buy that.
Perhaps I might get involved one day ![]()
The Post Office in the village of Skerray - never seen a more picturesque PO.

A couple of shots from me, the first was taken in Bibury at the end of the much photographed Arlington Row

and here is one from my mothers home village of Ludham in Norfolk
