    We have a few tips on using focus lock today which can be used when shooting close up work. For this reason, we want to see any close-up work of insects you've taken.

    Most of my portfolio is close ups of insects, so I've chosen three of my more unusual captures! Smile

    A Ruby Tailed Wasp (really tiny!). She is sat on our Mason Bee nesting tube - she lays her eggs in occupied tubes!

    This is a Rhyssa persuasoria (the largest Ichneumon wasp in the UK, 4" )

    All three shots are brilliant - but I'm especially interested in the second one. I've never seen Sheild Bugs that young before! Smile

    The hoverfly is my favourite. I know how tricky it can be to get any sort of decent shot of these little beasts. Well done (and I love the clean background)
