We have a few tips on using focus lock today which can be used when shooting close up work. For this reason, we want to see any close-up work of insects you've taken.
If you're new to Photo Month you can find out more about it in the what is Photo Month forum.

Most of my portfolio is close ups of insects, so I've chosen three of my more unusual captures!
A Ruby Tailed Wasp (really tiny!). She is sat on our Mason Bee nesting tube - she lays her eggs in occupied tubes!
This is a Rhyssa persuasoria (the largest Ichneumon wasp in the UK, 4" )
Hoverfly going to lunch
Shieldbug with babies
To close for comfort
All three shots are brilliant - but I'm especially interested in the second one. I've never seen Sheild Bugs that young before!
The hoverfly is my favourite. I know how tricky it can be to get any sort of decent shot of these little beasts. Well done (and I love the clean background)
Cross Garden Spider
BIF Bug in flight
I think its a garden spider
(Cleverly done, but I never did like the film 'The Fly')
A hoverfly kindly settled on my finger for this grab shot
