Today we're reading up on birds of prey. See Linda Wright's advice, take a look at Pete's list of great raptor centres you can visit then as always, e2 members can post their images here while our free members can put them in the gallery.
You can find out more about Photo Month in our what is Photo Month forum.
Haven't had much practice at raptors yet, but here are a few (if I've got the upload technique right, that is...)

Here is one I took at Banham Zoo - http://www.ephotozine.com/images/gallery/2008/46/normal/90330_1227394694.jpg
Here are just a few images from what can be obtained on a booked photography day at the Barn Owl Centre, Gloucester.

I recently went on an Amews Falconry Photo Day at Beaulieu organised by Montechoro.
I learnt just how hard it is to get the focus right! The greatest challenge was Bess the Peregrine falcon stooping to a lure
I can't tell you how satisfying it was to get her in focus, even if the composition is crap! I heartily recommend trying this if you haven't done it before and if you have you will understand my thrill in capturing the speed and grace of these killing machines!
The first two taken at the Barn Owl Centre (thanks Vince). The Tawny owl is the late lamented Hollow. The last is of a Turkey Vulture taken at the IBPC Newent - just down the road to me,

Excellent shots in this forum.

Taken from the James Town Ferry
