Day 28 April 2013: Subjects Found In And Around Hedgerows

Hedgerows are the topic for our article today so show us images of insects, flowers, birds, small mammals and any other subject you find near hedgerows.

Tried to step away from the more obvious birds and insects etc and go with what I captured last night in the under the garden hedge using a Bushnell Stealth Cam. I'll give you the fact that the quality isn't brilliant, however when you consider the fact these images were shot in total darkness in the dead of the night, they're not that bad.

And just to show what they look like in daylight, here's an image of one of the Juvenile Hedgehogs we rescued as an 300g baby back in November 2012. This image was taken just before his release back into the wild of the garden a fortnight ago when he weighed a very healthy 1050g. It's hard work keeping an eye out and caring for them over the winter months, but very rewarding and they need all the help we can give them as they're getting rarer all the time. Though you'd never know that as you see them all running around my garden at night Tongue
