Hi...Somebody asked me and I had to admit I didn't know...So am asking here..anybody know if digital backs/ digital back conversions are available for the Hasselblad 500CM and the Nikon F4 film bodies? If they are, any idea how much the conversion costs?
For that matter, can my old Canon EOS 30 be converted to digital?
Plenty of digital backs will work with a 'blad 500. None that I know of for the Nikon, though.
You might get one of the very early digibacks on Fleabay for a reasonable price but anything with a decent MP count will not be cheap - even used.
The Kodak DCS 760 was an F5 converted to 6 megapixel digital. and it's colour quality is up there with the best. I used them until I changed to the D3 and wasn't entirely happy with this move.
They occasionally come up for sale. Grab one if you can!
As i know, digital backs used mostly for medium formats or large formats, but for 35mm i am not sure, in all cases, i prefer to use DSLR over 35mm film with digital back, but if i will use a digital back then i better buy a medium format or large format, i got digital medium format which is Hasselblad H3DII, couldn't be happier except that i want higher mp only.
