I am new to this web site . I have not posted any of my b&w photographs in the gallery although I have a web site. There are far too many 123,280 at my last count here already. If anyone is seriously interested in discussing or looking at great photographs I would be plesed to participateSo far I have discovered The Boss by mheim and it is one of the best in the gallery but I have only looked at about 770 pages so far!!!!!!
Let's keep it to b& W though. Colour is much much harder to deal with.

saveme, COLOUR IS HARD TO DEAL WITH BECAUSE UNLESS YOU DEAL WITH ONE OR TWO COLOURS AT MOST THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF COLOURS OUT THERE AND AS PHOTOGRAPHERS MOSTLY DEAL WITH REALITY IT IS VERY HARD TO CONTROL THEM ALL IN A MEANINGFUL WAY WITHOUT RESORTING TO PHOTOSHOP. i AM NOT INTERESTED IN THAT. tHERE ARE AT LEAST A DOZEN TONS TO DEAL WITH IN B & W SO LET'S STICK TO THAT. iF YOU WANT TO START A TOPIC ON COLOUR GO AHEAD.

Sorry it is all in caps. How do you change caps to lowercase ? Is there a button. I am a two finger typist and just look at the letters not the screen until it is too late. Sorry.

I see. Interesting. I like B&W too but I'm not too over-awed by colour to try and include it in photographs.

I'm not going to start a thread about it though......

Yes,patters, you've got it. It's very difficult to control that much reality. That's why I think it is a good idea to stick to b & w . No objection to colour of course but unless it is all co ordinated I would not want it. It's like picking at random lots of different unmatched colours when you are dressing. Some might say "Cool" Others might say"weird". It is just not my taste. I prefer say a white shirt, a sharp, grey suit and a black tie. See what I mean?

Yeah, I looked at it. It's a great shot and an excellent example of B&W photography. I like the energy of it. I don't know how it helps push the art of b&w photography forward though.

Nice to see you again andytvcams. You have said it really. It is a surprise to see such a great shot. It is full of energy and it is very interesting. It captures movement very well and it is composed very well. I wish I knew how to put it on the screen at the same time as I write. Do you know how to do that. I think it pushes the art forward because let's say we do that with people in the street or a look by someone a reaction ... anyway it is powerful and it is so much more exciting than so many others. Let's look at Barber by nmosantos page 536 .Keep looking at great shots andy because you will train your eye. I will go back and look at it again.

It's okay but it doesn't really leap out at me. How do you feel about it?
