Like all big cities there are areas of birmingham where you wouldn't want to be roaming around as an obvious visitor to the city with an expensive load of photographic gear, but I'm sure you know the warnong signs in any place where you might have a problem, and what to do. i'e. make yoursrelf scarce, and try not to advertise the gear. Maybe coerce a mate from the course to go with you if you feel the need.

Having said that, most brummies are a friendly bunch. (I would say that as a brummie) Smile

I've found that if you look "purposeful" as though you're there to do a job, you get less hassle

If horticultural stuff is your thing then the Botanical Gardens are a a great place to snap away.
If you area at the other end of Edgbaston then Canon Hill Park and the MAC Arts centre are worth a visit.

I don't know. The rumour is that there's some weird stuff in Edgbaston Reservoir and the last time I was in Canon Hill Park the lake had a few less ducks on it so there must be something lurking under the water there... Wink
