This is an entertaining video showing Don McCullin getting to grips with the new Canon EOS 5D Mk III - his first foray into digital. http://cpn.canon-europe.com/content/Don_McCullin.do

Oh dear its a bit cheesy CanonAd in parts isn't it? And the absurdity of "tutoring" someone like McCullin is embarrassing when the camera is after all just a tool that Don has lived with for 50 odd years. I suspect Canon felt it was a good coup because McCullin famously used Nikon and Olympus OM throughout his professional career, even crediting one of his Nikon cameras with stopping a bullet and saving his life.
An entertaining piece nevertheless - the man is a legend

brilliant enjoyed it thoroughly, he's still a master and right on the button regards the chimping, missed a few doing that, wont make the mistake again. would look forward to a follow up if there is ever going to be one.

Well the obvious comment after watching it and something that has been stated many many times.

It is the photographer and not the equipment.

OK, I think Don intimated that the auto focussing was a help and enjoyed the low light capability ( changing to a higher ISO ) but the composition and the moment for pressing the shutter was all down to his skills and many years of experience.

A very enjoyable watch Smile

I don't chimp the photo as it is way too small, but I do chimp the exposure to see if the sky is blown. While the "move" to Canon is an obvious marketing ploy, they might be slightly less enamoured with his effective rejection of zoom lenses.

No such quarms here!!

Seriously, look at it again, on his so called first use of the camera, he instinctively chimped ( that movement to the review screen takes practice), me thinks he's been using digital for a while!!
