I will be spending a week in June at Duns on the Scotish Borders not far from Berwick on Tweed.
I know there are Red Squirrels in the area but finding places to photograph them then can be tricky.
Does anyone know of a good place to go?
Or any other good photography spots.
I will be in easy driving distance for the Farne Island and the Isle of May (bit on the pricy side this one) so Puffins and Razor bills are already on my list

I live about 20 minutes west of Duns. I have occasionally seen red squirrels in the woods near my home - around Legerwood and West Morriston (near Earlston and just off the A6105 road that links Earlston to Berwick and goes through Duns). It's a lovely spot with lots of nice walks through gentle, rural countryside teeming with wildlife. Even if you don't see any red squirrels you are likely to see deer (lots of these) and a good variety of bird-life.

Quote: Thank Ewan, have you been to Duns Castle Nature reserve?
I'm ashamed to say I haven't, sorry. The Berwickshire and East Lothian coastlines offer superb opportunities for photographing seabirds - from St Abb's Head north to Bass Rock but I don't know anything about the best spots or how to gain access. Maybe someone else will help.
