According to Mark's website at the present time, the weather tomorrow will be
12:00 Very heavy rain
15:00 Torrential rain
18:00 Very heavy rain
Better bring a boat!!
Even the BBC site is showing that rain now!
Leave the boat - submarine needed!
Gwyn, knowing Rob's navigation skills, I have made some preparations. I have a street map of Southend, a hand held GPS, some flares and emergency rations for 5 days, a rubber dinghy (for some reason Rob asked for that), some pastic carrier bags (!) and an English-Lithuanian phrasebook.
As we speak, I am filling the boot of the car with silica gel packets.
I've sent an email to some of you - I suggested that we post a message around 10pm tonight to say what we're doing - that way no one is going to be sat in a soaking car park waiting for the mob while the mob is drinking Rob out of coffee at his coffee shop, sorry, home.
(A Lithuanian translation of this message is available on request)
Monday is looking heaps better on Mark's website (not his personal one btw!) there are fluffy clouds and suns floating past.
Submarine on order from Amazon but not sure if it will arrive by tomorrow.
I'd like a translation please Dave (hee hee)
Anyone got Monday off??
Providing I get the revenue, it can be my site! I've a funny feeling Metcheck might have something to say about that!
There's a good submarine on eBay, based in Romania, payment via Western Union, delivery by courier!
I could be up for Monday if the current ship sinks!
were gonna miss you guys tomorrow, as it's such a long way for us to come to get a soaking......LOL
So unless it improves radically in the next 12 hours or so, doubtful to say the least, were gonna stay at home in our nice warm bed.
Ade & Sue
Looks like the curse of 'epz Cymru' strikes again! I'll also be staying in bed tomorrow - damn, that extra hour'll go to waste! Perhaps we can re-schedule.
If anyone is till planning on going to the Elan Valley could you please let me know. I don't care if we sit watching the rain as it would just be good to catch up with as many of you as I can.
Regards to you all.
We are planning to make a decision at 10pm tonight ....don't know who's deciding though!!
I've got tomorrow free so I'm going to be going somewhere, it'll have to be pretty bad to stop me.
My fingers are still crossed for a change for the better though, never been to the Elan Valley and I'm looking forward to it.
Right, the meet is still on, latest weather forecast is rain but dry later.
We'll be at Brecon at 9:00 (Safeways carpark)and Rhayader (carpark opposite leisure centre) at 10:00 am, come rain or shine.
See you all tomorrow
I've just had an email saying this meet is on for tomorrow!
Hopefully Mari will be along soon with some details of meeting places
Edit ....Damn ...she beat me to it!!!!!!!
See you all at the car park.
I'm going to pass on this! Sorry, guys, but the prospect of sitting in cars all day doesn't fill me with enthusiasm - however good the company (with a least one notable exception!)
I understand Mark, I wouldn't want to sit for long in your car either!!
