    i think a couple of tracks on the new elkie brooks album [powerless] come very close to the standard set on adeles 21 do you agree /disagree

    I loved Elkie and saw her in concert many times. They're both quite different so I don't think you can make a comparison.

    Saw Elkie Brooks in concert at Preston Guild Hall the best part of 20 years ago now. Not sure if she still sounds the same today, though I Imagine she pretty much does. Her voice is certainly different from Adele's and I prefer the latter personally.

    The Elk is still touring - still looks superb and still has the most astounding voice and control.
    Not sure Adele will still be touring and producing work after 50 years ....... but she is quite an artist too so let's enjoy her now anyway.

    As has been said .......... chalk and cheese - not to be 'compaired'
