i got a eos5d for my christmas last year..and have only used jpeg..so no trouble down loading to my pc...last month shot everything on raw settings...i have photo elements 3..and pisca2..loaded on my computor..as well as the stuff the camara comes with...so what am i doing wrong...i know is probably something simple but i can not get them of my camara card.. the computor and the above programs dont reconise them..please help...regards..jim

The guys are pointing you in a good direction. Try a later version of Photoshop Elements (5 or 6) and this will allow you to use the later versions of the Adobe Camera Raw plugin albeit with some reduced capability.
Your 5D should have come with several programs incluing Digital Photo Professional (there are updates to that program to download) and Zoombrowser. The latter has a facility to download the images from the card. Now, you don't want to connect the camera to the PC, the WIA driver only works for JPEG, you want to use a card reader that will show up as an additional drive on your pc. Put your card in, open the DCIM folder and you will see the sub-folders containing your raw files.
I suspect this may be where your problem lies.
