I wonder whether Epson has designed the cartridges so that they can't be re-used. We tried hard to find somebody willing to take them but to no avail.
If you go on to Epson website http://www.epson.co.uk/article/1223288770785 you can apply for envelopes to return your ink cartridges to Epson for recycling and you receive 4 plastic freepost envelopes .............. you return 1 cartridge per envelope and can apply for more whenever you want them. You can only use this service for original Epson cartridges not compatibles.
Our local authority provides every house with a brown bin, a blue bin, a green bin and a blue box. The instructions are that toner and ink cartridges go in the blue box along with batteries, bottles and small electrical items. Other LA areas might vary.

Always hated the fact Epson carts were not recyclable (before now).
