Exposure Compensation / Lightmeter

8 Apr 2002 6:41PM
Please help with something that is really bugging me !!
If I wish to change the exposure using the cameras exp comp dial from -say- 1/250 @f8 to 1/60 @ f8 (as an example) I use the PLUS sign to alter it by 2 stops.

If I want to change to the example above by using my Sekonic 608 meter in spot mode, I have to enter it as a MINUS.

Why is it a PLUS by using the camera but a MINUS by using the 608 ??

Please help me to understand why this "reversal"

Very gratefully yours

Alan

Yes, Sekonic do work the opposite way, as quoted in the instruction book. However, I cannot offer a good reason why. We will see if we can get a response from Sekonic and if we do, let you know.

I will be very interested in what Sekonic have to say.

Once again, very grateful thanks
